About Me
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and completed my bachelor’s of science degree in psychology from Colorado State University and my master’s of arts degree in counseling psychology from the University of Denver. I completed my practicum training at Aurora Mental Health Center, The Offenders Group, where I provided both group and individual psychotherapy to adults convicted of sexual assaults and other crimes. Post master’s degree, I remained at Aurora Mental Health Center for two years before I pursued a doctorate degree to expand my knowledge, skill-set, and career path.
I moved to the Great Pacific Northwest in 2010 and completed my doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University, School of Graduate Psychology (formerly School of Professional Psychology) in Hillsboro, Oregon, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). During my doctorate training, I was introduced to health psychology, which emphasized focusing on the whole body (both mind and body) to improve our overall physical and mental health. I also completed a one-year internship with the APA accredited El Paso Psychology Internship Consortium in El Paso, Texas that involved providing psychological services at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, University Medical Hospital, and the University Counseling Center at the University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to internship, I moved to Seattle and worked at a community mental health center and post-doctorate degree, I worked in a primary care clinic as part of an interdisciplinary team before starting my private practice. Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience working in various clinical settings with diverse and amazing people that have impacted how I approach psychotherapy.
In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors and everything the Great Pacific Northwest has to offer with my wife, daughter, and dog, Charlie. This includes visiting new places, eating great food, and enjoying both the water and mountains around us. I am also an avid sports fan for everything Colorado and the Pacific Northwest, as well as enjoy exercising, movies, and traveling.
